Jesse Lingard has uploaded a picture of him travelling to Dubai, having spent the past month or so training with West Ham United.

West Ham boss David Moyes has been heavily linked with signing Jesse Lingard on a free transfer.

Moyes recently told reporters that the 30-year-old is getting back to somewhere near his best from a fitness perspective.

And reports claimed the Hammers could offer Jesse a short-term, heavily incentivised deal (Daily Mail).

However, it now seems like a move back to the London Stadium is in doubt for the former Manchester United and Nottingham Forest man…

Jesse Lingard is Dubai bound

The 30-year-old has been training with West Ham but it seems as though he won’t be signing for us anytime soon.

That’s because Jesse is now out in Dubai, for one reason or another. He posted the below pictured on his Snapchat account last night:

That appears to be that then doesn’t it. In all fairness though, I don’t think we should be signing him anyway.

I just can’t see a way that he gets in David Moyes’s team ahead of the likes of Lucas Paqueta, Mohammed Kudus, Said Benrahma and Jarrod Bowen.

He enjoyed a wonderful loan spell with the Hammers during the second half of the 2020/21 season, with nine goals and four assists in just 16 Premier League games.

It would have been nigh on impossible for him to replicate that form this time around – he just hasn’t got the hunger that he once had.

And I think that Jesse Lingard heading out to Dubai is a good thing for West Ham. We don’t actually need him right now and if we had signed him, he would only have blocked the path to the first-team for one of our talented youngsters.
