West Ham United have been handed a truly huge boost ahead of our clash with Liverpool on Sunday, after David Moyes provided a fitness update in his press conference today.

Liverpool play host to West Ham at Anfield in the Premier League this weekend, with both teams having made fine starts to their respective campaigns.

Hammers boss David Moyes will be absolutely delighted with the start that his team have made to their 2023/24 season.

However, the Scot will be desperate for his team to avoid back-to-back Premier League defeats.

And our hopes of doing just that have greatly improved after his press conference this afternoon…

The Scot responded to a question about Edson Alvarez during his press conference this afternoon.

And when speaking to reporters, Moyes insisted that the Mexican is fit and healthy, despite the fact that he will not play tomorrow night due to suspension, as quoted by WHUFC.com:

“We’ve got everybody available, everybody fit and ready to play. Edson Álvarez is suspended. He’s still getting used to the Premier League but he’s fine and fit and healthy.”

Alvarez was forced off midway through the second-half against Manchester City on Saturday.

Despite the fact that he’s only played a few games for the Hammers, he has already firmly established himself as a vital player for us.

Having him unavailable through injury for the game against Liverpool would have been a major blow for West Ham.

However, it seems like he’ll be just fine to start at Anfield after Moyes’s reassuring comments today. If we are to have any chance whatsoever of getting a result against the Reds, we need Alvarez to be at his brilliant best on Sunday.
