David Moyes must make a bold call and drop West Ham player for our clash with Liverpool next week.

West Ham United were pretty good on the whole against Manchester City yesterday, but we lost 3-1 in the end, and David Moyes will be annoyed with a couple of the mistakes that were made.

The Hammers have actually begun the 2023/24 season in fine form but there is one big concern in particular as far as I’m concerned.

Nayef Aguerd has done a lot of good things but he’s made some glaring mistakes as well.

And I think it’s time for Moyes to take him out of the firing line…

Aguerd, 27, was at fault for Manchester City’s second goal at the London Stadium yesterday afternoon.

The big worry here is that it wasn’t a rare mistake – they seem to be happening far too regularly.

The former Rennes ace who was signed for £30 million last summer needs to realise quickly that mistakes in the Premier League against the very best teams get punished nearly all of the time.

He has been hugely disappointing this season in my opinion – I expected far more from him.

Listen, I’m not saying that Nayef Aguerd is done as a West Ham player – I just think that David Moyes needs to take him out of the team for a few games.

Konstantinos Mavropanos and Angelo Ogbonna are waiting in the wings, and both are more solid operators than the Moroccan.

Aguerd’s positional awareness, rash decision making and mistake-prone nature have cost the Hammers on more than one occasion already this season.

And David Moyes must now drop the West Ham player for his own good as far as I’m concerned.
