Maxwel Cornet was completely left out of the West Ham United squad for the Manchester City clash today.

West Ham winger Maxwel Cornet moved to the London Stadium from Burnley in the summer of 2022 for around £17.5 million.

The 26-year-old joined the Hammers accompanied by a big reputation but unfortunately for him, things have not worked out well at all.

The 26-year-old wasn’t even named on the bench for the Man City clash by the Hammers boss today.

Now, some people may argue that he’s been away on international duty in Africa with the Ivory Coast.

But so have Mohammed Kudus, Nayef Aguerd and Said Benrahma, and they all featured in the 20-man squad today.

Perhaps he picked up an injury? But Moyes didn’t mention anything of the sort during his pre-match press conference yesterday.

Moyes named two centre-backs and two full-backs on his bench today. Surely one of them could have been left out to accommodate Cornet?

The fact that Maxwel Cornet was completely omitted from the West Ham squad for today’s game tells us all we need to know.

Unless Moyes comes out after the game and says that the 26-year-old was injured, I think his time at the London Stadium could well be done.
