The Bayern Munich fans unfurled a banner for their Champions League clash with Manchester United last night and West Ham United got a surprise mention.
Bayern Munich fans have often shared their dislike for UEFA during Champions League match-days, so the banner on display last night was nothing new.

However, West Ham being included in the Bayern fans’ message to European football’s governing body definitely did raise some eyebrows.

The Hammers are playing in the Europa League this season.
Unfortunately for us, our fans are banned for the trip to Freiburg on October 5th (talkSPORT) due to the behaviour of a select few out in Prague during the Europa Conference League final, and the Bayern fans criticised UEFA for that decision…
West Ham get a shock mention on Bayern Munich fans’ banner for Champions League game
As Bayern played host to Man United at the Allianz Arena last night, the cameras panned to the home fans.
And what was on display in Bayern Munich’s stadium would have definitely surprised any West Ham fans watching the match:
Now, it’s nice of the Bayern fans to think of us but come on, the actions of a few people in that away end out in Prague back in June were just not acceptable – it really is as simple as that. We haven’t been treated harshly here, it’s just annoying that the majority of our fans were impeccably behaved on the night.
You can’t be throwing cups and vapes onto the pitch and expect no reprecussions.
The annoying thing about the whole situation is that once again, the actions of a tiny minority have ruined it for the majority of the West Ham fans.
The Bayern Munich banner was unfurled in support of the Hammers fans who will be forced to miss the game out in Germany next month.
However, it’s not really UEFA to blame this time in my opinion.
