Mohammed Kudus signs for West Ham as Fabrizio Romano delivers late night ‘here we go’ after successful medical.

What a weekend this is turning out to be for West Ham.

First the Hammers end the Brighton curse with a brilliant 3-1 away win at the Amex to go top of the fledgling Premier League table.

Then West Ham complete the brilliant signing of Ajax and Ghana star Mohammed Kudus in a £38m deal.

Fears that other clubs, including those in mega rich Saudi Arabia, could hijack West Ham’s move for the 23-year-old were hanging over the move in the last 48 hours.

But West Ham have got their man in what is the most exciting capture since the arrival of Dimitri Payet.

Kudus signs for West Ham as Fabrizio Romano delivers late night ‘here we go’ after successful medical.

At gone 10.30pm on Saturday night, Italian transfer reporter Romano delivered the news we’ve all been waiting for after Kudus flew to London for a medical.

“Mohammed Kudus has successfully completed medical tests in London as new West Ham player,” Romano said.

“Contract until June 2028 plus option to extend will be signed on Sunday.

“Here we go, confirmed.”

Hammers set to officially unveil most exciting signing since Payet on Sunday or Monday after reporter’s trademark confirmation

As fans who follow the transfer window know, Romano only ever issues his trademark ‘here we go’ when a deal is officially sealed.

So it seems West Ham can celebrate this brilliant signing now without fear of a hijack, issue with a medical or anything else of the sort.

The club is set to officially announce the signing of Kudus on Sunday or Monday once the media for the unveiling is complete.

Hammers News reported last night that Ajax appeared to post the first part of an emotional goodbye to Kudus on social media.

The Dutch club put a video montage of the star on social media with just a Ghana flag and he responded to the post.

What a signing and what a team David Moyes, technical director Tim Steidten and the board are putting together in this summer transfer window.
