Ajax have posted an emotional video tribute to Mohammed Kudus and he has responded as West Ham close on the magical star.

West Ham are on the verge of their most exciting signing since Dimitri Payet and Ajax appear to have all but confirmed it.

West Ham fans have been cautiously celebrating after it was confirmed the club had agreed a £38m deal with Ajax to sign star their star player Mohammed Kudus.

The likes of Sky Sports had claimed a West Ham “insider” had told them the chances of signing Kudus had been reduced to “50-50” on Thursday following interest from other clubs, including some in Saudi Arabia.

Ajax post emotional video tribute to Mohammed Kudus and he responds as West Ham close on magical star

The threat of Saudi millions remains according to some claims despite Kudus having flown to London on Saturday to have a medical and complete his Hammers move.

There appears to have been a big hint that Kudus is definitely on his way West Ham, though.

Because Ajax have posted an emotional video tribute to Kudus and he has responded as West Ham close on the magical star.

This afternoon, Ajax posted a video montage set to emotional music on social media alongside a Ghana flag.

And Kudus responded with a magic wand and the hashtag TMC.

Ajax known for showing class with player send-offs

Ajax do operate with a lot of class when it comes to their send-offs for players.

We saw that when West Ham signed Edson Alvarez from the Dutch giants a couple of weeks ago.

So they will undoubtedly do an even more gushing tribute when the move is officially confirmed on both sides.

But the timing – with Kudus reportedly in London signing on the dotted line and doing his medical – suggests this was a major hint the deal is done.

Hammers fans will be delighted to land Kudus, who has the X factor this team is missing.

One person who is not happy about it, though, is football royalty Marco van Basten.

He has hit out at Ajax for selling Kudus to West Ham and questioned why, saying the club must stand for more than just making money.
