Manchester United are apparently now willing to sell West Ham United target Anthony Martial in the January transfer window.

The January transfer window will clearly be a very important one for both Manchester United and West Ham…and Anthony Martial for that matter.

Hammers boss David Moyes has worked wonders since taking over at the London Stadium for the second time in December 2019.

He has made some terrific signings and we have a fantastic squad now. However, the addition of a forward with blistering pace is still much needed.

According to Football Insider, Manchester United might just be able to help us with that…

Manchester United make Anthony Martial call

Manchester Evening News claimed back in April that Man United manager Erik ten Hag wanted to keep Martial, 27, at Old Trafford for the 2023/24 season.

However, it seems as though that is no longer the case. Football Insider claim that Manchester United believe that the January window will be the best time to move the French attacker on.

So enter West Ham. The Hammers have been linked with a move to sign Martial for quite some time now.

I believe that David Moyes has to act now. Sure, Martial hasn’t been at his best for quite some time now for Man United, but I firmly believe he just needs a new challenge and a fresh start somewhere in order to reinvigorate his career.

Martial possesses blistering pace and would offer us a completely different threat in behind. The French forward’s talent and ability is not in question. What is up for debate though is his commitment to the cause.

Manchester United are said to be demanding around £50 million for Anthony Martial – that seems rather extortionate to me, and I honestly don’t think we should be spending anything like that on the Frenchman.

Perhaps if we could pick him up for closer to £25 million, then it is a deal that we should pursue. One thing seems clear right now and that is Martial will surely leave Old Trafford. Where he ends up remains to be seen though.
