There’s a major update from a reporter close to the West Ham board as a striker target jets to London with his agent but the window remains deadlocked.

West Ham fans have been deeply concerned by the club’s lack of signings in the summer transfer window so far.

A board confidant claims West Ham are seriously struggling to get any other deals remotely close despite the new Premier League season being just three weeks away.

Realistically West Ham need two midfielders to replace Declan Rice, a new left-back, a centre-back and a forward with Aaron Cresswell, Michail Antonio and Gianluca Scamacca all being tipped to leave.

Major update from reporter close to West Ham board as striker target jets to London with agent but window remains deadlocked

Scamacca has been publicly pushing for a move back to Italy. Antonio, who turns 34 next season, has been linked with a move to Saudi. And Danny Ings has been far from convincing for the Hammers since joining in January.

The Hammers have been linked with a host of strikers in this window.

One of those has been former Liverpool forward Divock Origi, who has flopped at AC Milan.

Earlier this week Gazzetta dello Sport (print edition July 24th, page 8), claimed West Ham were close to signing Origi for as little as €8 million (£6.9 million).

But those rumours were denied by a board confidant at West Ham.

‘If that’s true, it will not be to meet with West Ham’

Now there’s a major update from a reporter close to the West Ham board as the striker target jets to London with his agent but the window remains deadlocked.

Origi has been linked with West Ham again in recent days. But Sean Whetstone has once again insisted the Hammers are not interested in the Belgian.

“Club insiders have dismissed those links saying he is not a target or a player of interest,” Whetstone reports on 6foot2.

“According to West Ham Voice sources, the player flew into London today with his agent, but if that is true, it will not be to meet with West Ham.”

According to Calciomercato, the 28-year-old will be discussing a move in London. But to Saudi Arabia rather than West Ham or any other Premier League side.
