Liverpool are allegedly eyeing up a move to sign perennial West Ham United transfer target Sander Berge in January.

That’s according to a report from Jeunes Footeux in France who claim that Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is keeping an eye on the 24-year-old midfielder’s current situation at Bramall Lane.

West Ham boss David Moyes first tried to sign Berge from Genk two years ago.

However, the Hammers missed out on the 32-capped Norway international when he surprisingly signed for Sheffield United for £22 million in January 2020 (BBC).

West Ham were then linked with Berge again last year by the likes of Bleacher Report and 90 Min, but Liverpool may well end up winning the race for his signature…

Klopp could try to bring Sander Berge to Anfield from Sheffield United in the January transfer window according to a report from Jeunes Footeux.

I think that Berge would actually be a smart addition for the Hammers, so missing out on him to the Reds would be frustrating for sure.

The 24-year-old stands at 6ft 5in, so he has all of the aerial qualities that Tomas Soucek has.

However, the Norwegian is streets ahead of the Czech Republic international when it comes down to technical ability and quality in possession of the football.

He has been described as ‘unplayable’ by The Star.

The Sheffield United ace is an absolute central midfield powerhouse, and he has all of the qualities needed to succeed at the very highest level.

His Premier League career got off to a stuttering start with the Blades. And he is now marooned in the Championship.

Berge is definitely too good for England’s second tier in my opinion, and a move away from Bramall Lane will undoubtedly just be a matter of time for the Norwegian star.

I would actually love to see Moyes take a punt on the Sheffield United star, and bring him to the London Stadium this winter.

Liverpool could make a move for the perennial West Ham transfer target in the January transfer window though.

And if they do, the Hammers will be fighting a losing battle.
