Liverpool could beat West Ham to hugely exciting double deal in January

Liverpool could be set to beat West Ham to a double deal for two David Moyes targets in the January transfer window.

According to the Sun, Liverpool want to sign Bayer Leverkusen’s Odilon Kossounou and Fluminese ace Andre – two players who have been heavily linked with moves to West Ham.

The East London outfit were allegedly preparing a bid for Andre, 22, on deadline day, but ran out of time in the end.

Meanwhile, West Ham allegedly held talks to sign Kossounou, 22, from Leverkusen in the summer.

Both players would be fine additions for Hammers boss David Moyes, but it seems as though the Scot will have his work cut out if he plans to go back in for the Brazilian and the Ivorian in January…

Kossounou and Andre could both be Anfield bound in the January transfer window according to a report from the Sun.

I can’t help but think that the Hammers should have moved sooner for both players.

The Ivorian and the Brazilian, both 22, are huge talents and the centre-back and the midfielder will undoubtedly go on to become stars of the game, I have no doubt in my mind about that.

Kossounou is a towering central defender, is incredibly strong in the air and tenacious in the tackle and possesses impressive pace. Meanwhile, Andre is technically brilliant and has all of the attributes needed to succeed in the Premier League.

Andre is said to be available for around £26 million (ESPN), whilst Kossounou could cost roughly £30 million (The Sun).

Liverpool securing a £56 million double deal for those two players will be great business for them and it will be a real shame if we miss out in their signatures to the Reds.
