West Ham United could miss out to one of our London rivals in the race for a midfielder signing this winter.
David Moyes wants to make a top-class central midfielder signing for West Ham in the January transfer window it seems.
That’s because the Hammers have no cover for Edson Alvarez, and one of our potential targets is apparently Fluminense ace Andre Trindade, with a recent claim suggesting that we are expected to bid for the four-capped Brazil international imminently.
West Ham are flying high in sixth spot in the Premier League table right now, and we can move five points clear of seventh placed Manchester United with a win against Brighton tonight.

However, in order to carry our fine form on into the new year, Moyes definitely needs to make a couple of solid additions to his ranks at the London Stadium this month.
And the acquisition of a top-class defensive midfielder will surely be at the very top of the Scot’s wish-list this winter…
West Ham could be beaten to midfielder signing
Ben Jacobs – the man who first reported our interest in signing Lucas Paqueta in the summer of 2022 – has claimed that we face competition for the signing of Andre in January.
Jacobs took to his official X account last night and suggested that Fulham are optimistic of signing the 22-year-old for around £30 million this month:
Losing out on Andre’s signature to Fulham would be a big blow for the Hammers as far as I’m concerned.
He is an elite young talent, and would be the perfect understudy for Alvarez for the remainder of the campaign, before properly challenging the Mexican for his place in the team from next season onwards.
Andre is a tough and tenacious tackling defensive midfielder, and has a terrific range of passing. He’d be perfectly suited to the Premier League and more specifically West Ham United, as told to Hammers News exclusively by Fluminense expert Rogerio Junior.
He is very comfortable in possession as well, and would provide fantastic cover and competition for Alvarez.
For £30 million, he’d be a great midfielder signing for West Ham. And Moyes should be going all out to beat Fulham to his services this month.
