West Ham United have been heavily linked with a move to sign Brazilian midfielder Andre Trindade over the past few months, but can we really bring him to East London?
Andre Trindade is a midfielder who plays for Fluminese, and recent reports claimed that West Ham should have a bid accepted by the Brazilian outfit at some point not too far in the future.
However, it is worth nothing that Liverpool are apparently keen to sign the talented South American as well.

We clearly won’t have things all our own way in the chase for Andre’s signature, but I think the West Ham hierarchy should be going all out to bring him to East London.
The 22-year-old would be a fine addition to David Moyes‘ ranks at the London Stadium in the January transfer window – he’s exactly what the Hammers need in my view.
The Scot desperately needs to bring in more competition and cover for Edson Alvarez – we are so lost without the Mexican when he’s either injured or suspended.
With that in mind, I’m sure that the West Ham fans will be very excited when reading links with any top-class defensive midfielders.
But is Andre Trindade the man who could really take us forward as a club? Hammers News spoke directly to Rogerio Junior – the chief writer for Fluminese fan-site Vamo Fluminense – who gave us the lowdown on the 22-year-old Brazil international…

Can West Ham really sign Andre…
The noises coming out of Brazil are that the Hammers should have every chance of prising the 22-year-old away from Fluminense in January.
Hammers News spoke to Fluminense fan-site writer Rogerio Junior and he told us all we need to know about the midfielder.
So…how much will the Hammers have to pay for Andre?
“Fluminense should sell him for around 30 million Euros (£25.7 million).”
I then asked Rogerio Junior about whether Andre is suited to Premier League football:
“He is a very strong midfielder. He has a style very similar to Casemiro of Man United. So much so that he is his immediate reserve in the Brazilian team. He has everything a Premier League midfielder would normally need. Speed of decision making, fast, strong and with great passing. I believe he will adapt quickly to English football.”
Anything more on the Fluminense star’s attributes?
“Andre is a defensive midfielder, but can also play as a defender. He has great ball release from defence, and rarely misses his target when passing. He is a young player who does not have frequent injuries. This year he has already played 63 games.”
So, does Andre have any weakness that we should know about?
“I don’t know if it’s a weakness, but he has a habit of dribbling even when he’s inside his defensive third. Maybe in the Premier League this could be a problem.”
So a bit like Paquetá?
“Exactly. But he doesn’t have all the skills that Paquetá has.”
That all sounds pretty positive to me, aside from his risky approach to defending at times.
He is an incredibly robust player, with 63 games for club and country to his name already this year (Transfermarkt).
In 30 league appearances for Fluminense this season, he has averaged 1.9 tackles and one interception per game. During those outings he has made an average of 78.9 passes per match and has recorded a hugely impressive completion rate of 94.7% (Who Scored) – a stat that backs up exactly what Rogerio Junior told us about his passing ability.
Andre Trindade is an experienced winner as well, having helped Fluminense to a 2-1 win over Boca Juniors in the Copa Libertadores final last month.
So can West Ham really sign Andre in January, with the likes of Liverpool thought to be chasing his signature as well?
I think we’re in a really strong position actually, especially with his countryman Lucas Paqueta already at the London Stadium.
In addition to that, Liverpool would probably want to see how suited Andre is to the Premier League before pulling the trigger on a move to sign him. A move to the Hammers would be the perfect outcome for him, and of course us, this winter.
And maybe somewhere down the line, he will move on again to an elite club.
