One West Ham United player will surely be sold in the January transfer window, after the latest snub by David Moyes.

West Ham boss David Moyes has a lot of business to do in the January transfer window, although there may well be more outgoings than incomings.

The Hammers definitely need to sign a new striker, and probably a midfielder and a versatile defender as well.

Due to FFP concerns though, Moyes will have to sell before he can buy, and there are plenty of players who have barely been given any minutes by the Scot this season.

One of those men is Maxwel Cornet. The 27-year-old has been given just one minute of Premier League action by Moyes this season (Transfermarkt).

It has been a hugely challenging season for the Ivorian so far, and he received the ultimate slap in the face from Moyes when he was completely omitted from the match-day squad for our clash with Everton last month.

However, Cornet did get 25 minutes action during our Europa League win over TSC Backa Topola on Thursday night, and he really impressed.

The former Burnley man bagged a vital assist with an exceptional ball into the box that was finished off by Tomas Soucek. After that, many expected him to get more minutes during our clash with Crystal Palace yesterday, but it wasn’t to be…

West Ham player will surely be off in the January transfer window

Amazingly, Moyes completely ignored Cornet as an option off the bench yesterday, when we were chasing a winner against the Eagles.

The fact that Moyes chose to bring Pablo Fornals on in place of Edson Alvarez with four or five minutes to play was even more baffling.

How could Moyes have thought that that was the only substitution that he needed to make in that game.

And out of all the players on the bench, Cornet would have felt most aggrieved that he didn’t get the nod. He made such a positive impact for us in midweek, only for Moyes to completely ignore him three days later.

The Scot is constantly banging on about how relentless and unforgiving the schedule is, so why is he only making one substitute when we have a match against Tottenham in a few day’s time?

And why is he not bringing on an attacking player to try and change the game – you know, someone who made such a big impact for us off the bench during our last outing?

None of it makes sense to me, and it can’t do to Maxwel Cornet either.

The 27-year-old winger must realise that his time as a West Ham player is close to coming to an end, with the January transfer window just around the corner.
