West Ham United target Jesse Lingard would love to join Tottenham this summer in a big blow for David Moyes.

That’s according to football journalist Dean Jones who told Give Me Sport that a move to a Champions League club like Tottenham would really appeal to Jesse Lingard.

Both the Hammers and Spurs have been linked with moves to sign Lingard and the latest claim from is in direct contract to suggestions that West Ham is in fact the 29-year-old’s preferred club to join.

West Ham and Tottenham have already been busy in the transfer market this summer but both David Moyes and Antonio Conte are on the look-out for a top-class attacking midfielder.

And Lingard fits the bill perfectly for both clubs.

Jesse Lingard would love to join Tottenham

The 29-year-old is now a free agent, so unsurprisingly, competition for his signature is rife.

It seems as though Lingard’s preference would be to join Tottenham though according to Dean Jones:

“Lingard would love a club of that level (Tottenham), but only if he can sense a big role within that team and I’m not sure I see Jesse Lingard playing a big part in Tottenham’s team given what we’ve already seen from this summer.”

Missing out on Lingard to Tottenham would be really hard to take for the Hammers and especially David Moyes.

Jesse Lingard was exceptional for West Ham during a four-month loan spell in the 2020/21 campaign and it’s little wonder why David Moyes wants to bring him back to the London Stadium.

Moyes has clearly identified the free agent as one of his key transfer targets this summer.

The Scot absolutely loves the attacking midfielder and recently described him as an ‘incredible’ player (Claret and Hugh).

With the report claiming that Jesse Lingard would love to join Tottenham though, it seems as though West Ham could have our work cut out this summer.
