West Ham United allegedly want to sign talented Sporting Gijon midfielder Manu Garcia in the summer transfer window.
That’s according to a report from El Comercio who claim that the Hammers could face competition from Anderlecht and Braga for the 24-year-old’s signature this summer.

Central midfield is definitely an area at the London Stadium where West Ham manager David Moyes needs to strengthen before the start of the new season.
Mark Noble has retired and Alex Kral’s loan spell has now ended.

Bringing in more competition and cover for Declan Rice and Tomas Soucek will be pivotal to the Hammers’ hopes of achieving success on all fronts next season.
And it seems as though Moyes has someone in particular in mind…
West Ham eyeing Manu Garcia swoop
The Hammers are allegedly in a three-way battle to sign the 24-year-old ace according to El Comercio.
Garcia spent last season on loan with Alaves.
He returned to Sporting Gijon this summer though and has a clause in his contract that means he can leave for a club in a higher devision if an offer is submitted for his services.

That clause expires on July 15th though (El Comercio), so West Ham had better act fast.
Gijon are in Spain’s second division, so the Hammers should have no problem in signing Garcia, if David Moyes really wants to bring him to the London Stadium this summer.
Garcia was part of the Manchester City academy and actually made four appearances for the senior team before leaving to join Gijon in the summer of 2019.
Goal once described the Spaniard as an ‘exceptionally talented’ player. He’s incredibly versatile and can play in central midfield, attacking midfield or on either wing as well.
And if Manu Garcia joins West Ham this summer, we’ll be more than happy.
