West Ham target James Tarkowski has performed a U-turn and now wants to move to the London Stadium according to a report from The Evening Standard.
Hammers boss David Moyes will be desperate to bring in a top-class centre-back this month with Kurt Zouma and Angelo Ogbonna both ruled out with long-term injuries.
Burnley ace James Tarkowski is a player who has been linked with West Ham for the past 18 months.
Tarkowski allegedly didn’t want to swap Burnley for West Ham, however (ExWHUemployee).
At the time, the Hammers had barely avoided relegation. Now we’re fighting for the top four and are in the hat for the last 16 of the Europa League. And it seems as though Tarkowski has now had a change of heart…unsurprisingly so!
James Tarkowski performs U-turn on West Ham move
The 29-year-old Burnley ace allegedly wants to join the Hammers in January.
Tarkowski is out of contract at Turf Moor in the summer and The Sun reckon that West Ham are prepared to pay round £7 million in order to sign him in January.
If Moyes manages to pick him up for that kind of fee, it would be great business for the East London outfit.
Football Insider reckon that Burnley will demand closer to £15 million though.
Tarkowski is a top-class Premier League defender.
He is strong in the air and is a real threat from set-pieces. The 29-year-old is a tenacious tackler and his playing style is somewhat of a throwback to days gone by.
The Burnley ace would be a great signing for West Ham.
And the fact that he allegedly now wants to move to the London Stadium should really strengthen the Hammers’ hand ahead of the January transfer window.
