West Ham could still sign Ian Maatsen on deadline day

Jacob Steinberg claims that the talented Blues youngster could still head to the Hammers today, on one condition…that Marc Cucurella doesn’t join Manchester United.

I would absolutely love Maatsen to join West Ham – he’s exactly what we need.

The 21-year-old allegedly wants to move to East London as well. Come on Moysie please get this one done today!

Maatsen has pace and power in abundance, and he really impressed during a loan spell with Burnley last season.

The youngster bagged four goals and six assists in 39 Championship outings for the Clarets (Who Scored).

Described as an ‘absolutely rapid’ left-back by Talk Chelsea, Maatsen seems to be exactly the kind of player we need at West Ham.

For just £20 million, West Ham really can’t go wrong by signing Ian Maatsen this summer. However, a loan deal with an option to buy him next summer may be more likely for the Hammers.
