West Ham United should have a good chance to sign Chelsea left-back Ian Maatsen this summer.

That’s according to a report from The Guardian who claim that West Ham have ‘received indications’ that Ian Maatsen would be keen to join us from Chelsea in the summer transfer window.

West Ham have already been linked with a £20 million move for the 21-year-old Blues defender.

The Guardian reckon that the Hammers have received news that the 21-year-old Chelsea ace would be keen to move to the London Stadium this summer.

That really is very good news indeed.

Maatsen has pace and power in abundance, and he really impressed during a loan spell with Burnley last season.

The youngster bagged four goals and six assists in 39 Championship outings for the Clarets (Who Scored).

Described as an ‘absolutely rapid’ left-back by Talk Chelsea, Maatsen seems to be exactly the kind of player we need at West Ham.

For just £20 million, West Ham really can’t go wrong by signing Ian Maatsen this summer.

He would be a huge upgrade on Aaron Cresswell, that’s for sure. And the 21-year-old would provide really solid competition for Emerson Palmieri as well.
