Brazilian insider delivers big update on Gabriel Barbosa to West Ham links, telling Sky Sports ‘it will be a bombshell’.
It is no secret David Moyes wants to sign a striker this month.
Widespread reports claim West Ham are eyeing a move to sign Flamengo striker Barbosa this month.
Last night Sky Sports claimed Barbosa is set to take action today to force through a move to West Ham.
One man who has his finger on the pulse of all the goings on over in Brazil is journalist and South American football insider Tim Vickery.
The Englishman is based in Brazil and is well aware of the speculation regarding a Barbosa move to West Ham.
But he told Sky Sports News on Thursday that ‘it would be a bombshell’ if Barbosa was to demand a move to West Ham from Flamengo.

Vickery also once again voiced doubts as to whether Barbosa is a ‘Moyes type of character’.
Although he did admit ‘stranger things have happened’.
“I think it’s (Barbosa to West Ham) unlikely,” Vickery told Sky Sports News on Thursday lunchtime.
“First of all what does the player want? I know it’s been reported over there that he is about to tell Flamengo – his club in Brazil where he has been very successful for the last three years – that he wants out.
“If that’s true that will be a bombshell because the exact opposite is being reported here (in Brazil), that he’s been sitting down with the new coach and talking about how much he wants to feature this year.
“Would he want to rock the boat, World Cup year, he’s in the Brazil squad would he want to risk losing momentum with a move at this point?
“In terms of the clubs Flamengo neither want to sell nor need to sell and I don’t think they’d be interested in a loan move with an option to buy. You’ve got to stump up your £30m.
“Do West Ham really want to pay £30m for a 25 year old who no-one really knows if he can do it at this level….
“Although he’s made some progress with his emotional intelligence, he really doesn’t seem like a David Moyes type of character.
“So at the moment I would think it’s unlikely. But stranger things have happened.”
