There has been a hugely exciting Rob Newman claim as West Ham make a move for Chelsea striker Armando Broja.
A Chelsea expert speaking to Hammers News recently claimed the Todd Boehly takeover could be in West Ham’s interests over striker Broja.
West Ham were first linked with a move for Chelsea-owned Broja earlier this season after seriously catching the eye on loan at Southampton (Football Insider).

Sky Sports has reported that Broja is on David Moyes’s list of striker targets for the summer window with a forward being a top priority for West Ham.
And Jamie Redknapp claimed live on Sky Sports this month that he has heard the Chelsea academy product – who he has known since he was 14 – is wanted by West Ham in a permanent move this summer.

Moyes has been searching for the right striker to bring to West Ham ever since selling Sebastien Haller to Ajax 18 months ago.
Despite the understandable frustration of fans, it is perhaps no surprise it is taking West Ham so long to identify and sign the right man to be striker number 50 of the David Sullivan and David Gold tenure.
The Scot is renowned for doing serious due diligence on his signings and transfer targets.

That includes having them watched live several times against different types of opposition – either by himself or trusted scouts such as former Hammers assistant Alan Irvine and new head of recruitment Rob Newman.
So much so that if Moyes or his allies have not watched a player live then you can all but rule them out as transfer targets.
Now there has been a hugely exciting Newman claim as West Ham make their move for Chelsea striker Broja.
Football Insider claims that West Ham have made an approach to Chelsea to sign Broja.

And it comes after Newman was spotted regularly attending Southampton games to watch the forward in action live, notably the 4-1 win over Brentford in which he scored and was a real handful all game.
“West Ham have registered their interest in Chelsea striker Armando Broja Football Insider understands,” Football Insider reports.
“A West Ham source has told Football Insider that Broja remains a top target for the club this summer as they continue to plan for a centre-forward signing…

“Newman personally ran the rule over Broja on many occasions in 2021-22 and was spotted in attendance at St Mary’s Stadium in January as Broja scored in Southampton’s 4-1 Premier League win over Brentford.”
West Ham fans are well aware of how Moyes operates when it comes to his careful recruitment.
So the fact Newman was assigned to keep a close eye on Broja throughout last season is hugely exciting.
Let’s just hope the Hammers can get a deal done for the brilliant young Slough-born Albanian striker this summer.
