Huge Wilfried Gnonto claim made as January transfer window heats up for West Ham

A new Wilfried Gnonto claim has just been made, as West Ham United look to sign the Leeds United winger.

West Ham have been chasing Leeds star Wilfried Gnonto for a while now, and we allegedly made an enquiry for his services just last week.

Hammers boss David Moyes is frantically trying to bolster his front-line before the January transfer window slams shut, with Jarrod Bowen, Lucas Paqueta, Michail Antonio and Mohammed Kudus currently all unavailable for selection.

West Ham haver made a fine start to the 2023/24 campaign, in both the Premier League and Europa League.

If we are to continue that impressive form though, Moyes cannot afford to exit this window without the addition of a forward with real pace.

And now it seems like the West Ham boss could be set to bring in someone really exciting…

Wilfried Gnonto could be West Ham bound

According to Sacha Tavolieri, the 20-year-old Leeds forward is now likely to join West Ham in the January transfer window:

According to the Mirror, Leeds could demand around £30 million for the fleet-footed left winger. That would represent good value for West Ham in my book.

His stats for Leeds aren’t actually very impressive at all, with five goals and five assists to his name in 51 games so far (Transfermarkt).

Don’t let those numbers fool you though – he’s a real talent. He wouldn’t have 13 caps for Italy already if he wasn’t.

It’s worth remembering that he’s only 20 as well, and has plenty of years left ahead of him to improve and mature as a player.

Wilfried Gnonto would offer West Ham a completely different dimension to our attacking play what with his blistering speed.

The Leeds forward is a direct runner and combined with Bowen, Paqueta and Kudus, he would make us an incredibly exciting attacking outfit.

Gnonto is a left winger by trade, but can operate on the right and as a centre-forward as well, so his £30 million price-tag would represent good value for the Hammers. Hopefully Moyes gets this one done.
