Deadline day passed on Friday without much excitement for the West Ham United fans.
West Ham were linked with plenty of moves for new signings on transfer deadline day, but in the end David Moyes kept his powder dry for the January window.

There weren’t any outgoings from the senior squad either, with Hammers trio Aaron Cresswell, Maxwel Cornet and Danny Ings all remaining at the London Stadium in the summer.

Another player who stayed at West Ham despite being linked with a move away was Conor Coventry.
However, the forgotten 23-year-old midfielder really should have pushed harder for an exit…
How is West Ham’s forgotten 23-year-old still at the London Stadium after deadline day
Coventry clearly doesn’t have any kind of future at the London Stadium.
He will be out of contract with West Ham next summer as well, so I’m hugely surprised that he didn’t push to leave the club this summer, or more to the point why didn’t the Hammers try harder to sell him?

Edson Alvarez, James Ward-Prowse, Tomas Soucek and Lucas Paqueta are the four players who will be rotating in the central midfield positions this season – Coventry will not get a look in.
He’s 23 now as well, so can’t be viewed as a player for the future.
The West Ham midfielder is a decent player but nothing more than that. I fully expect him to be playing Championship football next season.
I’m just hugely surprised that he didn’t leave us on deadline day.
