Lyon boss Peter Bosz has been speaking about Lucas Paqueta, as rumours intensify that the Brazilian is West Ham bound.
It seems as though the Hammers have won the race for Paqueta, agreeing a deal worth around £50 million for the 24-year-old (The Athletic).

The West Ham fans are already getting really excited about the prospect of the Brazilian arriving at the London Stadium.

We all know not to get ahead of ourselves until the player is holding up the shirt though!
And Lyon manager Peter Bosz clearly doesn’t think it’s a done deal yet…
Peter Bosz delivers Lucas Paqueta verdict amid West Ham links
The Lyon manager was speaking to reporters this afternoon ahead of his side’s clash with Reims on Sunday.
And Bosz insisted that Paqueta is still very much a Lyon player, as quoted via RMC Sport:

“I do as with all the players announced elsewhere. I look at how they are in the head. It’s like that until September 1st. He’s a very good player, no discussion on that. We have more than eleven starters. If you’re in my squad, it’s because you’re a good player. Lucas Paquetá is still there, he’s trained. He is with us, he is not dead, eh. He is very happy here. It is Friday not Sunday so I don’t know if he will play on Sunday against Reims.”
We just think that’s a rather bizarre statement to be making.
Numerous sources, including Fabrizio Romano, are now reporting that West Ham have agreed a fee with Lyon for Paqueta and personal terms with the player.
Surely this deal will get done. Perhaps Peter Bosz was just playing it cool.
Either way, we don’t think that there is anything for the West Ham fans to worry about regarding Lucas Paqueta. We’re sure he will be holding up a West Ham shirt very soon.
