A Chelsea expert speaking to Hammers News recently claimed the Todd Boehly takeover could be in West Ham’s interests over striker Broja.

West Ham were first linked with a move for Chelsea-owned Broja earlier this season after seriously catching the eye on loan at Southampton (Football Insider).

Sky Sports has reported that Broja is on David Moyes’s list of striker targets for the summer window with a forward being a top priority for West Ham.

And Jamie Redknapp claimed live on Sky Sports last month that he has heard the Chelsea academy product – who he has known since he was 14 – is wanted by West Ham in a permanent move this summer.

Moyes has been searching for the right striker to bring to West Ham ever since selling Sebastien Haller to Ajax 18 months ago.

Football Insider claimed recently that West Ham had made an approach to Chelsea to sign Broja after having him watched closely throughout last season by head of recruitment Rob Newman.

And a journalist has since claimed a West Ham deal has been in making since January.

Now a respected Italian transfer guru who has his finger on the pulse of all the big transfer stories has delivered West Ham fans some fantastic news.

Di Marzio has made a seriously exciting new claim about a West Ham move for Chelsea star Broja.

Speaking on his own website, Di Marzio says signing Broja is now West Ham’s main focus having secured defender Nayef Aguerd.

And Di Marzio says negotiations are ‘ongoing’ between West Ham and Chelsea over a deal for the Slough-born Albanian forward.

“Important news for West Ham’s transfer market, after the official arrival of Nayef Aguerd from Stade Rennais,” Di Marzio announced on his official site this evening

“Hammers have now put in their radar Armando Broja , Chelsea’s striker who last season played for Southampton on loan (scoring 9 goals in 38 games).

“Negotiation ongoing: he is the first target for West Ham as new striker. Agreement is not reached or close to happen(ing), but the club is working on Broja’s name for a permanent deal.

“The fee could be around 25/30 million pounds.”

West Ham appear to be making some seriously exciting news.

And should Broja arrive it will be a real statement of intent from the east Londoners.
