A respected French outlet has heralded West Ham’s Nayef Aguerd capture with some seriously exciting claims.
West Ham have reportedly been close to signing Rennes defender Aguerd for some time.
But the deal was cast into doubt when Newcastle emerged with an alleged 11th hour bid this week.
West Ham fans were relieved this weekend, though, as the club pushed the deal through with an announcement reportedly set to be made on Monday.

Yesterday, as reported first by Hammers News, Aguerd sent a lengthy message to fans as the defender confirmed his West Ham move from Rennes.
In the long and emotional post Aguerd says ‘I announce that I played my last match’ for the club.
And the new West Ham man said it had been a ‘difficult decision’ to leave the French club ahead of joining West Ham in a deal said to be worth around £30m.
Ahead of the official announcement a respected French outlet has heralded West Ham’s Aguerd capture with seriously exciting claims.

Get French Football News follows every cough and spit in French football providing transfer news, match reports, features and analysis.
And in a new feature on last night GFFN declared ‘West Ham are signing a leader and a centre-back in his prime’.
The in-depth piece makes very interesting reading for West Ham fans.
“In terms of attributes, Aguerd has fantastic pace, solid distribution, and a calmness on the ball, as has been repeatedly seen at Rennes, with him happy to bring the ball out of defence…” GFFN states.

“Tall and strong, he’s dominant in the air, allowing him to be a threat from balls into the box, where all seven of his goals for Rennes over the last two seasons have come from. For a defender, he is surprisingly disciplined, only picking up that solitary red card and 10 yellow cards in two seasons.
“Now an established Moroccan international with a successful season under his belt, it’s clear to see just why he’s attracting big-money bids from across the Channel. The loss of Aguerd will hit hard for Rennes…
“They’ll (West Ham) be taking on a centre-back in their prime with the performances to back up the transfer fee, in a move which should see him continue to thrive.”

What an exciting analysis for West Ham fans to read about their new signing.
Aguerd has been scouted extensively by Hammers boss David Moyes and head of recruitment Rob Newman.
Aguerd’s talent is obvious for anyone that has seen him play or takes a look at his YouTube highlights reel.
His stats are seriously impressive too. According to Opta data, Aguerd has made the most forward passes of any outfield player in the top five European leagues since the start of the 2020-21 season!
And another astonishing stat about Aguerd’s defensive prowess was also revealed recently.
