Belgian goalkeeper Gaetan Coucke is open to join West Ham United from KV Mechelen in the summer transfer window.
Hammers boss David Moyes is allegedly keen to sign the 24-year-old stopper at the end of this season according to Het Nieuwsblad.

West Ham manager Moyes will be a busy man in the summer transfer window.
The Scot needs to bring at least four or five top, top signings to the London Stadium at the end of the season, if we are to continue our recent development and progress.

The additions of a new striker, centre-back, left-back and central midfielder will all be required this summer. Moyes needs to sort out his goalkeeping department as well. Lukasz Fabianski has just extended his deal by one year but he will most likely leave the London Stadium in the summer of 2023.
Darren Randolph will probably be sold at the end of this season (Claret and Hugh) and it remains to be seen whether West Ham take up our option to buy Alphonse Areola from Paris Saint-Germain.
We really hope that Moyes does make the Areola transfer a permanent one. Even if he does though, the addition of a younger goalkeeper as well might not be the worst idea in the world…
Gaetan Coucke keen on West Ham switch
The KV Mechelen goalkeeper sat down for an exclusive interview with Gazet Van Antwerpen and responded when asked about interest in his signature from West Ham as well as Torino and Reims:

“Nice list! (They are) clubs that I would definitely consider if they came with a concrete proposal. Going abroad has always been a dream. And I feel ready for this next step. But, in itself, I’m still good in Mechelen. If a good offer comes in from a good club, then I will consider it, European football or not.”
So there you have it. If West Ham make a concrete move to sign the Belgian, it’s clear to see that we will be able to do so.
We don’t believe that we should pursue a move to sign the goalkeeper though…
Standing at just under 6ft 2in tall, Coucke isn’t the tallest of goalkeepers and he certainly isn’t very physically imposing.
He hasn’t enjoyed the best campaign from an individual perspective this season.
Coucke has conceded 52 goals in 30 games and has kept just five clean sheets in the process (Transfermarkt).
The Belgian stopper is available for around £750,000 this summer according to Het Nieuwsblad, as long as he doesn’t sign a new contract with KV Mechelen.
We just think that this would be a very much needless signing by West Ham.
As much as Gaetan Coucke wants to join West Ham, much will depend on whether Moyes is just as keen to bring the goalkeeper to East London.
