David Moyes has suggested that Craig Dawson may have broken his nose BEFORE West Ham lost to Brentford this afternoon.
The Hammers were soundly beaten by Brentford today and it’s probably a case now of just forgetting about it, and moving on to Thursday night’s Europa League clash with Lyon.
The West Ham players just never got going at the Brentford Community Stadium and we were soundly beaten in the end.
Kurt Zouma went off injured midway through the first-half with an ankle injury and whether he will be fit in time for Thursday’s Europa League clash with Lyon remains to be seen.
It seems as though we could have another injury concern as well…
Moyes shares injury update after Brentford vs West Ham
Craig Dawson suffered a nasty bang on his nose early on in the game against the Bees today.
As the blood poured, the 31-year-old was seen trying to push his nose back into place! That’s just typical of the man.
There are plenty of players who would have gone off after the blow that Dawson took during the collision with Yoane Wissa.
David Moyes was asked about the injury sustained by Craig Dawson during West Ham United’s defeat to Brentford and suggested that his nose may have already been broken before kick-off, as quoted by Football.London:
“We thought he broke his nose on Thursday and in the first minute he caught his nose. He battles on Daws, great credit to him.”
It will take more than a broken nose to keep Craig Dawson out of our clash with Lyon on Thursday. The man is an absolute warrior.
The big centre-back has proven to be a superb signing for West Ham and one of the best value additions we have made in recent years.
Hopefully Dawson’s nose heals up and he doesn’t experience any further problems with it.
Because West Ham will really need the 31-year-old between now and the end of the season, especially with Zouma suffering another injury problem today.
