Gabby Agbonlahor has suggested that Manchester United right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka would be open to a permanent move to West Ham in the January transfer window.
Right-back is definitely an area where the Scot needs to strengthen at the London Stadium.
Vladimir Coufal and Ben Johnson have regressed badly over the past 6-12 months, and neither of them seem to be anywhere good enough to be playing regular Premier League football at the moment.
Wan-Bissaka would be a huge upgrade on both of those players in my opinion. And it seems as though there’s a chance that he could be ready to swap Manchester for East London…
Agbonlahor makes Aaron Wan-Bissaka to West Ham January transfer window claim
Agbonlahor believes that a permanent move to the London Stadium would suit the 25-year-old Man United defender, as quoted via Football Insider:
It all depends on West Ham. With Wan-Bissaka, everyone knows what sort of defender he is so what sort of defender do West Ham want? Do they want a defender who is no-nonsense and nobody beats? Or, do they want a defender with quality who can get balls into Scamacca and the attacking players? That’s what you’ve got to decide when you’re looking at Wan-Bissaka and that’s what West Ham have got to decide. I’m sure that he will be looking at more of a permanent move because he just hasn’t had a sniff at Man United.
I would absolutely love Wan-Bissaka to join West Ham.
I think the Man United right-back would be a sensational addition to Moyes’s squad at the London Stadium in January.
The 25-year-old possesses blistering pace. And that recovery speed would enable us to push further up the pitch, which ties in perfectly with Moyes saying that he wants his team to become more of a possession-based side.
If you are to do that, you need real recovery pace at the back and AWB possesses that in abundance.
The Manchester United right-back is an exceptional defender and is one of the very best tacklers around.
Wan-Bissaka has been described as an ‘explosive’ player by the The Athletic. Meanwhile, Owen Hargreaves once labelled him as ‘unplayable’ (TEAMtalk).
He is out of contract in the summer of 2024, but Man United have the option to extend that deal by a further 12 months.
Crystal Palace is said to be Wan-Bissaka’s most likely destination in January (90 Min). However, a move to the Eagles is far from set in stone for the pacy right-back.
And the Hammers cannot afford to hesitate now.
I believe there is every chance that Aaron Wan-Bissaka will move to West Ham in the January transfer window.
