West Ham are reportedly trying to get to the bottom of what has gone wrong for £50 million Manchester United star Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
That’s according to claims from football journalist Dean Jones who told Give Me Sport that the Hammers are determined to do their due diligence on the Manchester United right-back before trying to prise him away from Old Trafford.
Wan-Bissaka joined Manchester United three years ago from Crystal Palace for around £50 million (Independent).

He hasn’t quite lived up to the hype at Old Trafford though and as a result, he has been deemed surplus to requirements by Erik ten Hag.
Because of that, the Hammers are determined to get to the bottom of what is up with AWB…
West Ham making final checks before making Wan-Bissaka move
Dean Jones has told Give Me Sport that the Hammers are exploring exactly what has happened to the ex-Palace ace:
I think the Wan-Bissaka link is probably the one to take most seriously. But obviously, West Ham at the moment have been trying to explore exactly what has gone so wrong for him. They want to make sure that he is still the player that they remember him to be and that there are no other issues here.
That is fair enough. I must say though, I think the Man United right-back would be a sensational addition to Moyes’s squad at the London Stadium in January.
The 25-year-old possesses blistering pace. And that recovery speed would enable us to push further up the pitch, which ties in perfectly with Moyes saying that he wants his team to become more of a possession-based side.
If you are to do that, you need real recovery pace at the back and AWB possesses that in abundance.

The Manchester United right-back is an exceptional defender and is one of the very best tacklers around.
Wan-Bissaka has been described as an ‘explosive’ player by the The Athletic. Meanwhile, Owen Hargreaves once labelled him as ‘unplayable’ (TEAMtalk).
He is out of contract in the summer of 2024, but Man United have the option to extend that deal by a further 12 months.
Crystal Palace is said to be Wan-Bissaka’s most likely destination in January (90 Min). However, a move to the Eagles is far from set in stone for the pacy right-back.
And the Hammers cannot afford to hesitate now.
However, it seems as though that’s exactly what we’re doing, unfortunately. And as a result, it would not surprise me if West Ham missed out on the signing of Aaron Wan-Bissaka this winter.
