Wolves are leading West Ham in the race to sign Manchester United right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka in the January transfer window.

That’s according to a report from 90Min who claim that Wolves are currently in the strongest position to prise the 25-year-old Hammers target as away from Old Trafford.

West Ham missing out on the Man United star really would be unacceptable. He’s exactly what we need, and would be a massive upgrade on Vladimir Coufal and Ben Johnson.

The West Ham boss already tried to sign Wan-Bissaka from Manchester United in the summer transfer window.

The Scot clearly likes the ex-Crystal Palace ace, and signing him in January will probably be one of his main priorities. Moyes seemingly has his work cut-out though…

Wolves leading West Ham in Wan-Bissaka race

90Min reckon that it is Wolves who are currently out in front in the chase for the 25-year-old’s signature.

And losing out on him would be a really big blow to stomach for Moyes and the Hammers fans.

Wan-Bissaka joined Manchester United three years ago from Crystal Palace for around £50 million (Independent).

The 25-year-old possesses blistering pace. And that recovery speed would enable us to push further up the pitch, which ties in perfectly with Moyes saying that he wants his team to become more of a possession-based side.

If you are to do that, you need real recovery pace at the back and AWB possesses that in abundance.

The Manchester United right-back is an exceptional defender and is one of the very best tacklers around.

Wan-Bissaka has been described as an ‘explosive’ player by the The Athletic. Meanwhile, Owen Hargreaves once labelled him as ‘unplayable’ (TEAMtalk).

He is out of contract in the summer of 2024, but Man United have the option to extend that deal by a further 12 months.

West Ham will have to pay around £25 million to sign Wan-Bissaka from Manchester United in the January transfer window according to a report from Si.

And the Hammers cannot afford to hesitate now.

However, Wolves leading West Ham in the race to sign Aaron Wan-Bissaka is a big blow for David Moyes and co.

Hopefully the Hammers manage to pull something out the hat. If Julen Lopetegui brings the Man United star to Molineux, serious questions need to be asked of the transfer policy at the London Stadium.
