West Ham United are reportedly back in the race to sign Roma striker Tammy Abraham in the January transfer window.

Tammy Abraham has been on the West Ham radar for quite some time now, dating all the way back to the summer of 2020 when he was at Chelsea.

Hammers boss David Moyes has actually chased the 26-year-old centre-forward over the past few transfer windows.

However, he suffered an ACL injury during the final game of the 2022/23 season, and that scuppered any chance we had of signing him in the summer.

Since then, Moyes has sold Gianluca Scamacca to Atalanta, leaving Michail Antonio, Danny Ings and teenager Divin Mubama as his only options through the middle.

And maybe now, the Scot could be set to finally replace the 24-year-old Italian…

I have always firmly believed that the former Chelsea star would be absolutely perfect for a David Moyes system.

The 11-capped England international is always willing to make tireless runs into the channels in order to create more space for his teammates, is incredibly strong in the air and possesses real pace. He’s a top-class finisher as well.

Abraham has bagged a really impressive 161 goals and 44 assists in 373 career games so far (Transfermarkt).

And now Italian media outlet Calcio Mercato claim that West Ham are ‘determined’ to bring Tammy Abraham back to the Premier League.

I love the former Chelsea striker and everything that he has to offer. However, the recent ACL injury that he suffered will undoubtedly be a huge concern to the Hammers owners.

Get Football News Italy claim that Roma could demand as much as £40 million for the centre-forward, so he clearly won’t come cheap.

And West Ham taking such an expensive punt on Abraham in the January transfer window or next summer is highly unlikely as far as I’m concerned.
