Former Hammer Frank Lampard has used West Ham as an example to warn Everton star Anthony Gordon off a move to Chelsea.

West Ham, Everton and Chelsea have shared plenty of column inches during the summer transfer window already.

And David Moyes, Toffees boss Lampard and Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel could yet find themselves at the centre of a transfer triangle.

West Ham pulled out of a deal to sign Amadou Onana, paving the way for Everton to sign the Belgian instead.

And Everton also reportedly beat West Ham to the signing of Conor Coady.

The Hammers have been one of the big spenders of the summer window, splashing out £180m on eight signings and counting.

Lampard desperately needs reinforcements after narrowly keeping Everton up last season before losing the club’s best player, Richarlison, to Spurs.

Meanwhile Chelsea are reportedly chasing the likes of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Ronaldo and Everton’s Gordon.

West Ham have been linked with Chelsea duo Armando Broja and Conor Gallagher all summer.

There was a report at the weekend that Chelsea want to snub Moyes and give Everton the two West Ham targets in return for Gordon.

It is a deal touted as being worth a staggering £85m.

One man who knows all about leaving their boyhood club to join Chelsea is Lampard.

Frank Lampard uses West Ham as example to warn Everton star Anthony Gordon off Chelsea move

Everyone knows the history between West Ham and Lampard junior. And while some may never forgive or forget, Lampard did say he will always be grateful to West Ham for his career when speaking to the press last season.

Now Lampard has used West Ham as an example to warn Everton star Gordon off a Chelsea move.

Speaking in his latest press conference, it was put to Lampard that he might struggle to convince Gordon to stay given he himself left his boyhood club to join Chelsea during his playing career.

But he quickly reminded Gordon that he spent nearly four years in West Ham’s first team before moving to Stamford Bridge.

“The kid’s character is great, he’s in the squad (for Leeds) and is a huge player for us,” Lampard said about Gordon (Sky Sports News Monday 3.04pm).

“We’re getting to the end of the window now and Anthony is a huge player for us and will be this season…

“He’s not a robot, you know, all this attention is difficult and I understand that. I was that ambitious, hard-working young player and that’s the beauty of Anthony – he’s hard-working, he wants to be better, he wants to do what he did (against Brentford) which is score goals, run for this team.

“Yea I did (leave West Ham for Chelsea) and I played, I think, three-and-a-half, four seasons for West Ham so there’s my answer to Anthony – he’s played one for us.”
