Transfer reporter Fabrizio Romano gives West Ham hope if they still want David Moyes target Ismaila Sarr after a Leeds update.
Leeds United were said to be closing in on beating West Ham to longstanding Moyes target Sarr last week, as reported by the likes of Foot Mercato and Get French Football News.
West Ham have been heavily linked with Watford forward Sarr and his former Hornets teammate Emmanuel Dennis this summer as Moyes looks to continue his big rebuild.

Moyes allegedly passed up a move for Dennis after his notoriously thorough background checks. The Nigerian has now signed for Nottingham Forest.
The Scot wants an attacker who can play across the front line having ended his 18-month search for a striker with the £35m signing of Gianluca Scamacca.
West Ham and Leeds have shared some column inches over the last six or seven months and during the summer transfer window.

Moyes admitted he tried – and failed – to sign both Kalvin Phillips and Raphinha from the Elland Road outfit.
Leeds seriously angered West Ham by signing promising young striker Sonny Perkins.
The Hammers were livid about the move and will now have to wait for a compensation figure owed to them by Leeds to be decided by a tribunal.
West Ham have also been linked with interest in Leeds star Jack Harrison recently (90min).
Reports have abound that West Ham were considering making a bid for Watford’s Sarr – who has already scored a goal of the season contender in the Championship (GiveMeSport).

Jesse Marsch looked like he might beat West Ham to the Senegal star following the reports last week.
But Fabrizio Romano has given West Ham hope if they still want Moyes target Sarr after a Leeds update.
Because this morning the Italian transfer reporter claims reports Leeds were close to signing Sarr were false.
And that leaves the door open for the Hammers, who clearly need reinforcements as their terrible pre-season spilled into the campaign proper with back-to-back defeats.

“Leeds have not submitted any bid for Ismaila Sarr and Juan Mata as things stand – while they are following Willy Gnonto as potential future talent since long time,” Romano said on Twitter.
“Leeds will complete new signings only if they find top opportunities.”
Whether Moyes still wants Sarr remains to be seen.
But West Ham could certainly do a lot worse.
