West Ham United think they have a good chance of signing Ollie Watkins from Aston Villa in the summer transfer window.
That’s according to a report from The Daily Mail who claim that Hammers boss David Moyes is keen to bring the 26-year-old Aston Villa striker to the London Stadium this summer.

The Guardian suggested yesterday that Watkins is in fact West Ham’s number one summer transfer target.
Moyes’s priority will be to bring a proven, established centre-forward to West Ham this summer.
Your Club's SURPRISE Star This Season
Michail Antonio is currently the only option we have through the middle and that just isn’t good enough for a club with supposed aspirations of challenging for honours both domestically and on the continent.
It appears as though Moyes is ready to change all of that before the start of next season though…
West Ham have a good chance of signing Ollie Watkins
The Aston Villa striker could be Hammers bound this summer.
The Daily Mail reckon that Moyes is desperate to sign Watkins and the powers that be at the London Stadium believe that they have a good chance of bringing him to East London with Villa boss Steven Gerrard allegedly prepared to let the forward leave Villa Park.
The ex-Brentford hitman would be the absolutely perfect summer signing for West Ham.
Watkins is absolutely rapid and is always prepared to make the tireless runs into the channels in order to create space for this teammates.
The seven-capped England international is a constant menace for opposing defenders and never gives them a minute’s rest. The 26-year-old is a good finisher as well.
He has bagged 26 goals and six assists in 72 games for Villa (Transfermarkt). Not the best return but certainly not the worst either. This season, Watkins has 10 goals and one assist in 31 Premier League games for the Villans (Transfermarkt).
Watkins can certainly improve even more, but even as he is, he would be literally tailor made for West Ham and our current setup.
The former Brentford ace has absolutely everything that David Moyes usually looks for in a striker.
Aston Villa could demand as much as £50 million for the striker in the summer (The Guardian).
If we want to challenge the elite though, that’s the kind of fee we need to be paying for a top-class striker in the summer.
And West Ham allegedly believe they have a good chance of signing Ollie Watkins. That is nothing but very good news.
