West Ham United are looking into the possibility of signing James Ward-Prowse from Southampton in the summer transfer window.
That’s according to a report from The Sun who claim that Hammers boss David Moyes is keen to bring the 27-year-old Southampton ace to the London Stadium from St Mary’s this summer.

Central midfield is definitely an area where West Ham need to strengthen before the start of next season.
Mark Noble is set to retire whilst Alex Kral will almost certainly be sent back to Spartak Moscow after his unsuccessful loan spell with the Hammers.

West Ham quite simply cannot rely upon Declan Rice and Tomas Soucek to play week in, week out during the entire campaign next term.
And it seems as though Moyes has a very exciting transfer plan up his sleeve…
West Ham looking into signing Ward-Prowse
The Sun reckon that Moyes has identified the 27-year-old Saints ace as a transfer target for the Hammers this summer.
And what a brilliant signing Ward-Prowse would be for West Ham.
The 10-capped England international is a sensational footballer and has been dubbed as the best set-piece taker in world football by Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola.
The Spaniard told the BBC:
“He’s the best free-kick taker right now worldwide. There isn’t a better taker than Ward-Prowse.”
Ward-Prowse has enjoyed his best season ever for Southampton this season, bagging 10 goals and eight assists in 40 games so far (Transfermarkt).

The central midfielder possesses exceptional technique, is a magnificent passer of the football and has a very impressive engine.
The 27-year-old is truly incredible from dead-ball situations as well.
Considering how much emphasis David Moyes places on set-pieces, signing Ward-Prowse this summer seems like a no-brainer. Southampton will obviously be reluctant to sell the English ace though.
With West Ham looking into signing Ward-Prowse, there is at least a chance that we will see him in the Claret and Blue next season. And that would be a hugely positive thing.
