West Ham United may have a great chance to sign a truly exceptional striker before the January transfer window closes.
The Hammers have, of course, already signed two strikers in the January transfer window.
However, Nuno Espirito Santo would surely jump at the chance to bring an elite centre-forward to West Ham before deadline day.
West Ham are believed to be prioritising the signing of a new centre-back in January, and that will definitely be the best course of action for the club during the final four days of the window.
If someone told you they wanted to sign Raheem Sterling on a free, what would you say back? 🤔
Explain why in the comments 👇(I'm going for yes)
However, if alternate opportunities arise, then the Hammers would be foolish not to act.
And the perfect striker for West Ham has seemingly just become well and truly available late on in the January transfer window.
West Ham target Jhon Duran now wants Premier League return
The former Aston Villa man apparently wants to make an early return back to English football this winter.
According to a report from Sabah, Al-Nassr-owned striker Jhon Duran is keen to return to the Premier League.
He’s currently in the midst of a season-long loan spell with Fenerbahce but the Turkish side do not have an option to buy the striker, so the loan deal can be cut short.
The 22-year-old has allegedly been missing from training in order to help facilitate transfer negotiations.

Duran was linked with a move to West Ham in the January window on Wednesday.
The Hammers fans will be very familiar with the Colombia international after Julen Lopetegui desperately tried to sign him all summer long in 2024.
West Ham missed out on Duran in the end and had to settle for German striker Niclas Fullkrug instead.
The less said about that, the better…
Jhon Duran was desperate to join West Ham
West Ham’s failure to sign Duran had nothing to do with the striker himself.
In fact, the talented South American was quite clearly desperate to move to the London Stadium.
West Ham did all they could but Lucas Paqueta STILL wanted out! 😡

Duran was filmed doing the ‘crossed Hammers’ sign in an attempt to force through a move to West Ham 18 months ago.
That incident was allegedly investigated by Aston Villa according to a report from The Athletic, and as a result, they became even more steadfast in their stance not to let him join West Ham.
Had the Hammers managed to sign the Colombian from Aston Villa back in 2024, it’s fair to argue that they would be in a completely different position as a football club now.
However, the West Ham board seemingly now have a chance to make up for missing out on Duran 18 months ago.
If he really does want to return to the Premier League, the Hammers should not hesitate to sign him.
