Dharmesh Sheth has just shared a big January transfer window update that no West Ham United fan wants to hear.

The Hammers are in real trouble at the moment, with David Moyes’s side currently sitting in 16th spot in the Premier League table, just one point clear of the relegation zone.

Moyes is under real pressure, and he has allegedly already received a strong warning from the owners that performances and results must improve quickly.

In order to turn things around, Moyes obviously needs to get his team playing better football.

However, a few top-class signings would help as well. In spite of the Scot’s summer splurge in the transfer market, we still lack any kind of strength in depth.

The additions of a right-back, a centre-back and a versatile forward is much needed this winter. It seems as though there is some bad news though…

The Sky Sports journalist has been speaking to Give Me Sport about the Hammers’ potential January transfer business.

And Sheth warned of a quiet January transfer window ahead for West Ham:

I’m sure David Moyes is looking to strengthen in all areas of the pitch. Having said that, there’s so many new players that have come in at West Ham United I think what his priority was, was to gel these players, and was almost pleading for time from the West Ham fans who were getting a little bit frustrated with the results. Saying, ‘look, just calm, just trust me. We’ve just got a whole new squad’. They need time to bed in. A lot of them are coming from different leagues, they’re going to need time to settle in.’ So, I think that’s what David Moyes and West Ham United will probably be looking at doing in the next few months.

In my opinion, failure to strengthen in January could be a big mistake from Moyes and the Hammers.

Yes, the Scot made some huge summer signings. But his options from the bench are severely lacking. We lost more players in the summer than we signed after all.

The Dharmesh Sheth update on West Ham transfers is an underwhelming one to say the very least.

Let’s just hope that David Sullivan is keeping his cards close to his chest, because if West Ham are to challenge on all fronts this season, we need at least two new signings in January.
