David Sullivan confidant has just shared a truly crushing new striker blow for West Ham United this summer.

Sean Whetstone – a reporter with very close links to David Sullivan – has shared some worrying transfer news for West Ham fans as the summer transfer window winds down.

Hammers boss David Moyes has made some terrific signings already this summer.

However, there is still more that needs to be done – namely the addition of a new centre-forward.

Hugo Ekitike is the name being most prominently linked with a move to the London Stadium right now, but there’s seemingly some bad news for the West Ham fans to digest…

Sean Whetstone took to Twitter this morning to provide an update on the Hammers’ attempts to sign a striker before the transfer window closes.

And the West Ham reporter highlighted how it is now unlikely that a new forward will arrive at the London Stadium before tomorrow’s 11pm deadline:

I have to say, it will be hugely disappointing if Moyes doesn’t manage to sign a striker before deadline day.

With Gianluca Scamacca having been sold earlier on in the window, Moyes now has only Michail Antonio and Danny Ings as centre-forward options.

If there is any chance whatsoever of West Ham making a push for the top six this season, I’m convinced that we need to sign a top-class striker before 11pm tomorrow, someone like Hugo Ekitike.

As things stand though, it seems highly unlikely that that will happen. What a shame.
