David Moyes wants flying wingback Robin Gosens at West Ham and his club are keen to sell but there’s a big problem.

Ask any West Ham fan what key areas need to be addressed in the current side and both full-back positions will be near the top of the list.

Aaron Cresswell has been a fantastic servant for West Ham. But he turned 33 this week and modern full-backs simply must possess pace and power to get up and down and contribute with assists and goals.

David Moyes signed Emerson Palmieri from Chelsea in the summer for £13.5m. But he has thus far failed to set the world alight or displace the ageing Cresswell.

On the other side, neither Vladimir Coufal or Ben Johnson have performed to the required standard. And Thilo Kehrer has filled in there with mixed results.

Coufal has been linked with a Hammers exit in January while Johnson is refusing to sign a new contract.

West Ham have been heavily linked with Man United outcast Aaron Wan-Bissaka to solve their right-back issue.

And on the left, Moyes has been linked with a move for longstanding Robin Gosens.

The former Atalanta man only joined Inter Milan in January.

But the 28-year-old has failed to impress and Inter have allegedly been trying to get him off their books.

According to a recent report from Gazzetta dello Sport in Italy, the Hammers are in a position to make a ‘rich’ offer to Inter Milan for the Germany international.

Gosens has only made one start in Serie A so far this season, with Federico Dimarco preferred at left wing-back.

And West Ham are reportedly eyeing up a move for the attack-minded star in January after missing out on a very similar player in the summer, Filip Kostic.

The player, according to new reports from Football News 24 and Football Italia, is refusing to leave Inter.

Schalke have joined West Ham – and Premier League rivals Everton and Newcastle – among the list of suitors for Gosens.

But he has rejected a move and wants to prove himself with the San Siro giants.

“The Nerazzurri would only consider a definitive sale and are not open to any loan offers for the 28-year-old,” Football Italia reports.

“Gosens believes the Inter move to be a once in a lifetime chance and he doesn’t want to let the opportunity pass him by, so he’ll be working hard to show his best in the second half of this season.”
