Craig Dawson is set to stay at West Ham beyond the January transfer window on the orders of David Moyes, in spite of reports suggesting that he wants to leave.
Claret and Hugh claim that the current central defensive injury crisis at the London Stadium means that David Moyes is not prepared to let the 32-year-old leave.
It has been claimed that Dawson is desperate to move closer to him home in the north of England.
It seems as though Daws won’t be getting his wish this winter though.
And purely from a selfish perspective, I’m very happy about that indeed…

Well, that’s what Claret and Hugh think anyway.
It seems as though Moyes is reluctant to let him leave the London Stadium with such uncertainty surrounding the fitness of his current first-choice central defenders.
He originally joined the Hammers on a season-long loan from Watford in October 2020. West Ham then made his move to the London Stadium a permanent one for a further £3 million in the summer of 2021 (The Sun).
Daws has established himself as a cult hero at West Ham but he’s actually a lot more than that. He’s a very good defender, and labelling him as a cult hero really doesn’t do him justice.
The 32-year-old is one of the best passers amongst the West Ham centre-backs now having worked really hard to improve that aspect of his game, and he deserves huge credit for that.
Dawson is vitally important to the Hammers at the moment, with Nayef Aguerd and Kurt Zouma both struggling with injuries.
The ex-Watford and West Brom man is out of contract in the summer of 2023. So West Ham will most likely lose him for nothing then.
That’s the better case scenario than West Ham losing Craig Dawson for peanuts in January, however, with Moyes in desperate need of central defensive cover.
