David Moyes replacing Nayef Aguerd with 26-yo Englishman would be unbelievable upgrade for West Ham

West Ham United centre-back Nayef Aguerd just isn’t good enough for the Premier League and he needs replacing.

David Moyes brought Nayef Aguerd to West Ham from Rennes in the summer of 2022 for around £27 million.

However, the 27-year-old has really struggled to establish himself with the Hammers, in spite of some glimpses of his undeniable quality.

Aguerd is very good with the ball at his feet and possesses incredible pace, but he lacks the kind of physicality needed for the Premier League and his concentration levels and positional awareness are both off the scale bad.

Now, Moyes needs to make a big upgrade on the Moroccan in my opinion, and Max Kilman would be the ideal man for the job.

The 26-year-old Wolves centre-back was linked with a move to the London Stadium in January, but he remained at Molineux in the end.

Now Moyes has to make this transfer happen in the summer…

West Ham man Nayef Aguerd needs to be replaced

The former Rennes man has now become a target for the opposition every single time we play, and it’s about time Moyes addressed that.

How on earth Aguerd came straight back into the team for our game against Manchester United in place of Konstantinos Mavropanos absolutely baffles me.

Kilman would be a huge upgrade on the Morocco international, and Moyes should do everything in his power to bring him to East London this summer.

He is incredibly strong in the air, comfortable playing out from the back and is really strong in the challenge.

In 23 Premier League appearances for Wolves this season, the 26-year-old has averaged 1.3 tackles, one interception, 4.8 clearances and 2.5 successful aerial duels.

He has made 55.8 passes per game and has recorded a completion rate of 83.6% (Who Scored). Compare those stats with Aguerd’s and the Wolves man comes out on top in every single category.

The only problem I can see is that the Hammers will have to pay around £45 million to prise him away from Molineux, but he’s more than worth that fee in my opinion.

Max Kilman would be a major upgrade on Nayef Aguerd for West Ham, and the club quite simply have to make this transfer happen in the summer.
