Hammers boss David Moyes has admitted he wants a new transfer move after the nightmare news on £17.5m West Ham signing Maxwel Cornet.
An emotional social media post from Cornet at the weekend appeared to confirm West Ham’s worst fears over his rare injury.
The Ivory Coast star was forced off after just 35 minutes when he finally got a Premier League start under Moyes at the beginning of October.
When the winger went off with that calf injury it was expected he would be back in a week or two.
But, over three months on, West Ham’s summer signing has not been seen in claret and blue since.

West Ham fans were fully expecting to see Cornet back involved for the Premier League restart following the World Cup break.
But when the Ivory Coast star was not available against Arsenal or Brentford, Moyes revealed he had been sent to France to see a specialist and the club were awaiting the results.
As reported previously it was claimed Cornet may face an operation on an issue that is so rare the specialist had only seen it twice in 25 years.
Taking to Instagram, Cornet said his ‘disappointment is big’ and that the ‘road is long’ while stating his pain at having not been able to repay West Ham fans for the love they showed him when he signed.
Moyes initially insisted he would not be active in the January window having spent £170m on Cornet and seven other players in the summer.
But the Scot changed his stance last week stating he is now looking to be active.
West Ham have tried to sign striker Youseff En-Nesyri.
And now Moyes has been linked with a new transfer move after the nightmare news on £17.5m West Ham signing Cornet.
According to reports West Ham are now eyeing a move for a winger following the injury to – and uncertainty surrounding – Cornet.
“I’d like to give you a clearer update but I don’t think I can…” Moyes told Football.London about Cornet.

“We brought him in to get more goals, because he can play off the left, off the right, centre-forward at times.
“We brought him in as another attacking player so yeah it could be something we look into but the market’s not easy. It’s something we could consider.”
West Ham simply must leave no stone unturned this month to get more goals into this team.
Just 15 goals in 18 Premier League games is laughable and will result in the club dicing with a disastrous relegation if there is not a dramatic improvement.
With Cornet looking set to be out for some time yet – possibly much of what remains of the season – a replacement is needed as well as a striker.
