Chelsea’s £93m mega deal could push explosive striker to West Ham but there’s a problem

Chelsea could do West Ham United a huge favour in the summer transfer window, but a few things still need to be ironed out.

The Hammers could benefit greatly from Chelsea sealing a mega £93 million transfer.

West Ham head coach Julen Lopetegui has enjoyed a fabulous transfer window so far this summer, and has brought eight new players into the London Stadium.

The Hammers head coach wants even more new arrivals though, and is demanding two top-class players in every single position.

However, the Spaniard must shift some of the deadwood first this summer, before he can make that happen.

If there’s one position where Lopetegui needs to strengthen even further still though, it’s the centre-forward department.

Danny Ings and Michail Antonio aren’t at the required levels anymore, and Niclas Fullkrug needs more competition.

Now the door could be wide open for the Hammers to bring in a properly talented young striker, but only if Chelsea manage to get one astronomical deal over the line.

Now, Blues boss Enzo Marseca is in the market for a top-class striker.

And Napoli hitman Victor Osimhen is said to be the man who the Chelsea manager wants to bring to Stamford Bridge.

Another option for them is Jhon Duran according to a report from The Guardian – a striker West Ham have been linked with signing all summer long.

Napoli are demanding around €110 million (£93 million) for Osimhen according to Foot Mercato, but his ‘crazy’ wage demands could scupper a move to Stamford Bridge (The Sun).

That could obviously be a big problem for the west London outfit, but if they manage to iron out those issues and sign Osimhen, the Hammers could well have a free run at Duran.

I have to say, I think the Aston Villa hitman would be absolutely perfect for us.

He possesses blistering pace, has fantastic movement and is a lethal finisher when he gets a run of games under his belt.

Duran has so much potential, and the sky really is the limit for him.

The South American would provide Lopetegui with real tactical flexibility in the sense that he’s the polar opposite to Fullkrug.

The German is a very good striker but he doesn’t have any pace whatsoever – something that Duran possesses in abundance.

The Hammers signed Fullkrug instead of Duran earlier this summer, and that decision kind of backfired for us last weekend, when he scored the winner for Aston Villa at the London Stadium.

Hopefully West Ham have still got a chance to sign the lightning quick 20-year-old, and Chelsea bringing Victor Osimhen to Stamford Bridge this summer would really help us out in that respect.
