Amadou Onana of Everton is someone who West Ham apparently could sign this summer.

The Hammers are reportedly chasing the Belgium international’s signature. He would be absolutely perfect for us, what with his pace, power, tenacious tackling and ball carrying ability. However, Chelsea could blow us out of the water this summer…

Chelsea reportedly could wreck West Ham summer transfer window midfield plan

The Evening Standard reckon that Blues boss Mauricio Pochettino is eyeing up a move to sign the 21-year-old Everton midfielder.

That is surely curtains to the Hammers’ hopes of bringing the former Lille ace to the London Stadium. We’ll have to just focus on getting a deal for Ward-Prowse done now.

The Everton star is perfectly built to play the box-to-box role in the Premier League, so losing out on him will undoubtedly be a big blow for West Ham.

Described by Breaking the Lines as a midfield dynamo, Onana is a truly elite player and he will only get better and better over the course of the next decade.

Everton signed him for around £34 million from Lille last summer (The Guardian), and beat West Ham to his signature in the process.

So the Toffees will surely demand a lot more than that fee for the midfielder this summer, if they are to let him leave Goodison Park.

Unfortunately for West Ham, it seems as though Chelsea are eyeing up a summer transfer window move to sign Onana.

And if they do swoop in, we will have no chance unfortunately.
