West Ham are focused on signing a forward before the summer transfer window deadline on Friday night and so too are Chelsea it seems.

The Hammers beat Chelsea to the exciting capture of Mohammed Kudus at the weekend.

Journalist David Ornstein confirmed that was the case when West Ham swooped to complete a £38m deal for Ghana star Kudus with Ajax at the weekend.

David Moyes a big fan of Man City ace Palmer and has been tracking him for some time

One particularly versatile forward player that has been on West Ham’s radar all summer – indeed all the way back in April – is Man City’s Cole Palmer.

David Moyes is said to be a big fan of the forward, who has made it clear he wants more game time this season – something Pep Guardiola has admitted publicly.

Earlier this month The Guardian reported Moyes wanted to get Jarrod Bowen and Palmer in the same team.

West Ham are reported to have received a very surprising response from Man City when they enquired about signing Palmer.

Journalist Jacob Steinberg recently claimed that when the Hammers approached Manchester City about a loan deal for Palmer, they were told they would have a better chance of signing him on a permanent deal.

Well it seems that has alerted West Ham’s London rivals Chelsea to the England Under 21 star’s potential availability.

In an exclusive – which is now being reported elsewhere – transfer reporter Romano says the Blues are set to open talks as they see Palmer as ‘the best solution’ following the injury to Christopher Nkunku and Romelu Lukaku’s latest departure.

“Chelsea add Cole Palmer to list of talented offensive players being considered for final addition!” Romano said.

“Chelsea are set to open talks soon as they see Palmer as best solution. It remains to be seen Man City position on Palmer but Chelsea really want him.”
