West Ham United attacker Jarrod Bowen is allegedly a transfer target for Chelsea in the summer transfer window.
That’s according to a report from 90 Min who claim that Chelsea have shown an interest in signing the 25-year-old Hammers star in recent weeks.
TheWest Ham United star was in sensational form this season.
Bowen bagged 18 goals and 13 assists in 51 games for the Hammers (Transfermarkt) and firmly established himself as one of the two most important players David Moyes has at his disposal at the London Stadium, alongside Declan Rice of course.
His fine form led to his first call-up to the England national team squad as well for the upcoming Nations League fixtures.
It’s little wonder why the ex-Hull City ace has drawn so many admiring glances from other clubs this season. And now Chelsea are being mentioned as potential suitors for his signature…
Chelsea eyeing Jarrod Bowen swoop
Blues boss Thomas Tuchel is interested in bringing the Hammers star to Stamford Bridge in the summer transfer window according to a report from 90 Min.
Surely West Ham will not sell one of our best players to a rival though.
Having said that, everyone has a price…
Bowen moved to the London Stadium from Hull City in January 2020 for around £20 million (BBC).
Moyes wouldn’t consider selling him for anything less than £70 million now according to club insiders Claret and Hugh.
It will be interesting to see West Ham’s stance, should Chelsea come in with that kind of money for Jarrod.
In my option, we should keep the 25-year-old attacker at all costs – he is absolutely vital to everything good that we do.
Selling him would also send the wrong message to Declan Rice with regards to our ambitions as a football club.
Bowen is a truly elite player now and has been described as ‘unbelievable’ by Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp (The Mirror).
Keeping hold of him will be paramount for Moyes if West Ham want to make genuine progress as a club over the next few years.
Chelsea signing Jarrod Bowen would cause a mutiny amongst the West Ham fans and probably the players as well. We just can’t see this one happening.
