Everton are interested in signing free agent Jesse Lingard despite the fact that he’s currently training with West Ham United.

According to 90 Min, Jesse Lingard is wanted by Everton and West Ham, and it seems as though one club in particualr has an advantage in the race for his signature.

Hammers boss David Moyes has always been a huge fan of the 30-year-old, and tried to sign him twice after he left the London Stadium following a four-month loan spell in 2021.

It was only a few days ago when the Scot absolutely raved about Lingard’s commitment, suggesting that he is in far better shape now than he was last month.

It seems like Lingard returning to the London Stadium is a dead-cert. That might not be the case just yet though…

West Ham face Everton competition for Jesse Lingard

The Toffees are in the race to sign the former Manchester United ace according to 90 Min.

The report does highlight how West Ham are still favourites to win the race for his signature though.

That doesn’t surprise me one little bit – he’s been training with us for the best part of a month after all.

If Jesse can prove his fitness, he could be a really useful player for us this season.

We all know know good Jesse Lingard was when he played for West Ham during the 2020/21 season. He bagged nine goals and four assists in just 16 Premier League games for the Hammers.

If he could chalk up even half of those numbers for West Ham during the entire season, he would be a superb signing for us.

Whether we are able to beat Everton to his signature remains to be seen though.
