Bid upped for Terem Moffi as Nice and West Ham battle it out while claim is made about the striker’s mindset on a move.
As carried by Hammers News yesterday, it has been claimed West Ham’s signing of Danny Ings does not impact the club’s desire to sign rapid Lorient forward Moffi in this window.
The Hammers want the in-form Nigerian ace as well as Ings with Michail Antonio likely to be sold should David Moyes get both over the line.
While the Ings deal has been concluded refreshingly quickly by West Ham’s standards, the move for Moffi is turning into the kind of saga Hammers fans are used to.

Earlier this week journalist Alan Nixon claimed West Ham’s reported £20m plus move for Moffi was now ‘all down to wages’.
Prior to that a French journalist had claimed Moffi had chosen to sign for Nice over West Ham.
Well there appears to have been another development overnight regarding the 23-year-old hitman, who is second in the list of Ligue 1 top scorers this season with 12 goals, just one behind superstar Kylian Mbappe.
Because a bid has been upped for Moffi as Nice and West Ham battle it out while a claim is made about the striker’s mindset on a move.
Ouest-France are reporting that Nice have now increased their bid to around £17.5m including add-ons as they look to get closer to West Ham’s offer.
The same report incorrectly states that the Hammers ‘look to have given up on Moffi after signing Ings’ which is not the case.
West Ham’s rivals in the bidding have already seen two offers rejected for the fast and powerful forward, who has scored 35 goals in 90 games since his arrival in Brittany two years ago for a bargain £7m.
One claim made in the report will concern West Ham, though, and it concerns the player’s mindset on his next move.

“Moffi has reportedly already agreed personal terms with Nice and does not wish to move to England yet,” Ouest-France reports.
All the signs at the moment are that this will be a difficult deal for West Ham to conclude.
It is all well and good signing Ings but West Ham simply do not create chances for their strikers, hence their struggles this season.
The Hammers desperately need more fast, powerful runners such as Moffi who can make a difference.
