West Ham fans will remember the name Filip Kostic well.
It was widely reported all last summer that David Moyes was desperately trying to sign Serbian left wingback from Eintracht Frankfurt.
A host of sources claimed West Ham were closing in on agreeing a deal and terms with Kostic.
The likes of Fabrizio Romano at one stage stated the Hammers were pushing hard to get the move done.
And West Ham knew all about the left-footed star’s talents having faced Kostic in the Europa League semi-finals the previous season.

But in the end Italian giants Juventus came in for the Serb and he moved to Turin instead.
A couple of months after Kostic completed the move to Juve, though, Gianluca Di Marzio revealed that West Ham were in the box seat to sign him only to miss out.
He did not disappoint at Juventus, scoring three goals and laying on nine assists last season from left wingback.
West Ham ended up signing Maxwel Cornet for £17.5m instead and the move has proved disastrous thus far.

West Ham have been linked with Ian Maatsen of Chelsea. But he seems to be very much in Mauricio Pochettino’s plans and came on as a substitute in the draw with Liverpool on Sunday.
“There are sirens from the Premier League (for Kostic)…” TMW reports.
“There is a club from the Premier League that has requested information.”
The report suggests it could be Nottingham Forest. But they themselves are having to read carefully financially this summer after their mammoth splurge last year.
Kostic is represented by Italian agent Alessandro Lucci – the same man who brokered West Ham’s £30m signing of Gianluca Scamacca last summer.
